In this livestream talk, we will create a 'listening space' for your heart to reveal your most meaningful intentions for the year ahead.
Awareness of the heart brings with it greater consciousness for us to act from the heart. This experiential online talk is inspired by ancient Chinese medicine and modern anatomical concepts as we look at the qualities and energies of the heart through a mind/body/spirit lens.
- In Chinese Medicine, the Heart is an aspect of the FIRE element and its role is 'Sovereign Ruler'. This provides clear insight as it ensures a harmonious relationship between body/mind/spirit.
- In western anatomy, the role of the heart is to pump blood around the body for our whole life. To carry out this task it relaxes longer than it contracts and works and so does not overextend itself. Something to learn from when aiming for a work/life balance!
Both perspectives can offer inspiration and guidance through the metaphors they provide. In this online talk, you'll discover how these perspectives can help clarify which of your New Year intentions are aligned with your heart's compass. This holistic approach can support your vision, identify inner resources and strengthen your resilience.
To embody and embed these ideas, there will be some guided gentle movement and self-reflection. Doe will weave together different concepts into a holistic perspective so that you can take from this livestream talk what is personal and relevant to you.
Doe draws on her 40 years experience of working with eastern and western practices in anatomy and physiology, shiatsu, Chinese medicine, somatic movement and moving in the landscape. She has developed a holistic and embodied approach to the anatomy of the human body and its relationship with mind/spirit/earth.
