In this 2-part livestream workshop, we'll deconstruct the great monolith of tarot practice - the Celtic Cross spread. We'll make it our own, demystifying it through analysis and reinventing it through enjoyable games.

The iconic Celtic Cross spread is one of the most common ways to read cards in the Anglo-Saxon tarot tradition. First discussed by Waite in his 1910 Pictorial Keys to the Tarot, this large tableau is both intriguing and confusing for tarot readers because of its profusion of cards and their various attributes.

While normalised in practice, the Celtic Cross is complex enough to deter tarot novices. For more seasoned tarot readers, it is a strange classic that we've lost touch with, often interpreting it in auto-pilot, point by point. Whatever your experience, this online workshop guides you into a deeper relationship with the Celtic Cross spread.

As we'll see, the history of this spread - rooted in the Hermetic Order of Golden Dawn traditions and its multiple reinventions throughout the 20th Century - contrasts with its contemporary monolithic image and univocal interpretations. By understanding its dual structure, echoed by the Waite Smith deck, we'll unveil the dynamism of the Celtic Cross spread. By understanding its rigidity, we'll be able to subvert it while considering fresh, unorthodox, and frankly more fun reading approaches.

Book now to develop a profound understanding of the all-important Celtic Cross spread to enhance your tarot readings and your relationship with the cards.
