In this creative in-person workshop with artist Jan Arden, we will be exploring the folklore and history of the use of hag stones to inspire and reveal the hidden worlds of the fairy folk and to unlock our creative abilities.

Hag stones - stones with a hole in them - have been around since medieval times and have been used to ward off evil and malevolent unseen forces. They are also a device with which to peer into the fairy realm; a magical tool for insight and knowledge of the fairy folk.

In this workshop at the College in London, Jan will help you choose a hag stone from his collection to use during the workshop, exploring the touch, sound and sight of the stones. You'll find the one that's perfect for your fairy adventures throughout the afternoon.

After a few moments of meditation with our hag stone, we will enter into a fairy ceremony. We will use our artistic skills to interpret what we feel see and imagine. All hag stones and art materials will be provided.
