This in-person workshop will teach you all you need to know about protective magic, exploring everything from curses to banishing spells, and working with some interesting materials along the way.

From the evil eye and the curse for barrenness, to love curses and spells to render a man impotent, magical history is full of dastardly curses and counter-curses. This fascinating in-person workshop looks at some of the most popular curses in history and teaches you how to protect against them.

We will explore the various types of protective magic as laid out in the grimoire tradition and how they have evolved into the many forms used today. You will be guided through a few simple protection spells in the tradition of European folk magic. These include a traditional salt and water blessing, a herb sachet, a talisman and a witch bottle. From British traditional witchcraft and the grimoire traditions, we will also learn how to cast a protective circle.

You will leave this in-person workshop with a strong working knowledge of cleansing and protection magic, and you'll be confident in the practices that resonate most strongly with you.

We will be working with some fun materials today - all of which will be provided.

    Previous participants say:

"Excellent! Very knowledgeable and personable presenter."

"I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop, which was a perfect blend of theoretical and practical learning. The size of the group made it easy to follow and contribute, and Rebecca was an excellent tutor, who made sure her answers were tailored to our experience and challenges."

"I have already recommended this workshop to friends who I think, and hope, will be interested."

"Today's workshop was fantastic. I loved it. I have been a witch (imposter syndrome, imposter syndrome, what does that even mean blah blah) forever. I have always wanted to explore joining a coven but been afraid and not known where to start. Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon. Practicing and being around and close to magic feels like coming home."

"What an absolute delight to spend a couple of hours with Rebecca and the group! Thanks so much. All the classes I have attended with Rebecca have been so informative, interesting and inspiring, I am so grateful for how clear and generous she is. She presents such a great balance of historical fact and spiritual exploration, I am much better informed about the history and traditions of Wicca and more confident to try out the practice alone too. I'm going to come to as many of Rebecca's future classes as I can. I'm so excited, once again, thanks so much."
