Book Launch: In Conversation with the author of 'Ithell Colquhoun'

Join us at The College of Psychic Studies with author and researcher Emma Sharples to celebrate the launch of her new book on the artist and occultist Ithell Colquhoun (1906–1988).

A contributor to Surrealism in Britain as well as to the wider movement, Ithell Colquhoun's life and art were shaped by her occult worldview: a confluence of beauty, transformation and mythic landscapes governed by a vast, living system of magical connections.

In this FREE in-person evening, Emma Sharples will be in conversation with archivist and curator Jacqui McIntosh discussing Ithell Colquhoun's extraordinary artistic output during her career in London and Cornwall, including figurative painting; collage; automatic or 'mantic' staining; costume, stage and mural designs; poetry, imaginative prose and critical writing.

Following the talk, Emma will be signing copies of her new book, Ithell Colquhoun, in the Library.
