From mediums channelling musical masterpieces from bygone greats to locations where spontaneous musical concerts can be heard. Music and the paranormal have a strong link in the human psyche. Music is also a theme that is explored in the College's Creative Spirits art exhibition.
In this fascinating livestream talk, Melvyn J. Willin will explore the paranormal through musical phenomena. He will examine a range of fascinating aural anomalies, including cases of musical mediumship and locations throughout the world where music has been heard with no obvious source.
Other manifestations, such as the abilities of musical savants and the anaesthetic use of music during surgical procedures, will be included with a focus on paraphysical aspects.
Melvyn, who has two doctorates in music and the paranormal, draws examples from earliest history up to present day to reveal the long relationship between music and psychic phenomena. He will leave the interpretations up to you!
