Many of us are familiar with Jesus' 12 disciples. Apart from an occasional gnostic nod to Mary Magdalene, these disciples are, conspicuously, all male. So where were all the women in the time of Jesus? Who were they, and what were they doing? This livestream talk reveals all.

Contrary to the popular patriarchal narratives underpinning Christianity, we have evidence of women prophets, healers, teachers and leaders at large in the second & third centuries. These women challenged the male authority. Their leadership was often controversial and, consequently, suppressed. But it was present.

This livestream talk introduces you to the trailblazing women who lived in the first few centuries after Jesus' death. We will seek traces of women among Jesus' followers. We'll also unpack the apostle Paul's view of women in the early days, when Christianity was a germinating spiritual movement. Ultimately, this talk will challenge commonly held beliefs about women in the first three centuries of Christianity.
