This is a special invitation to join us behind the scenes at The College of Psychic Studies for an insider's introduction to the works on display and the artists behind them.
Art is a major feature of the exhibition, and you'll discover what drove and defined the development of spirit-inspired art. Particular attention will be paid to visionary women from around the world, including Madge Gill, Ethel le Rossignol, Cecilie Markova, Alma Rumball and Aleksandra Ionowa, the latter whose work will be seen for the first time outside of Finland.
Along the way, you will be introduced to a few of the larger-than-life characters from The College of Psychic Studies' long history, including one of the College's founders, Anna Howitt Watts. She pioneered mediumistic art in Britain, and you'll hear fascinating stories about the mediumistic artists that came after her, as well as the unique ways in which they worked.
Allow Vivienne to guide you around our lecture hall to admire the extraordinary works of Dreamers and Visionaries, past and present. Here, you'll learn about artists that were inspired by the invisible, including altered states of consciousness, music and energetic forces.
Additionally, you will be invited into our fascinating archive collection of spirit photography and its captivating ectoplasmic delights. It's one of the largest collections of its kind in the world, and contains some extra-special treasures that Vivienne will highlight.
Throughout the tour there will be plenty of opportunities to ask Vivienne questions. She will also share what it has been like to curate Creative Spirits and what it means to look after the College's historically important collection.
A rare opportunity not to be missed.
