Inspiration from the Elements: Art Competition 2024

Our 2024 art competition is open for submissions - and it's free to enter! We invite you to get elemental for our Inspiration from the Elements art competition.

Earth, water, fire, air and ether: the five elements anchor our reality. They are everywhere, within and around us, influencing who we are and what we do. Our 2024 art competition invites you to open up to receive inspiration from the five elements, and share it with the world.

Whether working with the elements - clay, watercolour, charcoal etc - as your creative medium, channelling your favourite element into a work of art, or interpreting one or all of the elements for your artistic process, The College of Psychic Studies' 2024 art competition encourages you to express yourself through the world of the elemental. Of course, if you wish to venture into the Chinese five elements, the periodic table, the weather and more, all elements-inspired creations are very welcome!

How to submit your artwork

This art competition is free to enter. Closing date for submissions is midnight on Sunday 20 October.

Submissions are to be emailed as a good quality jpg (maximum three separate artworks for each entrant) to art@collegeofpsychicstudies.co.uk.

Please include the following information:

• contact name and email address
• high-resolution / large jpeg
• title of artwork
• date of the artwork
• media (i.e. oil on canvas, embroidery etc.)
• dimensions
• a few sentences (up to 200 words) about each artwork.
• Please state if you are happy for your work to be shared on social media, and if yes, let us know your social media handles so we can tag you. We may feature submitted works before the winner is announced on Friday 6 December 2024.

The winner

A winner and four judges' choices from the Inspiration from the Elements Art Competition 2024 will be announced on our website, in the College Newsletter and on our social media platforms on Friday 6 December 2024.

The winner will be awarded:

• A College voucher, worth £250
• A year of College membership, worth £65
• A luxury hamper of College goodies including crystals, tarot cards, books, incense, candles and room mists.

Invitation to join the College collection

The winner will be invited to donate an artwork to our wonderful permanent art collection and join the esteemed company of previous winners Emma Schultz, Cara Macwilliam and Catherine Garrigue, as well as artists such Georgiana Houghton and Anna Mary Howitt who helped establish the College in 1884.

The virtual exhibition
